Mint 17.1 - Slow Wifi (Intel 7260)

Post by Munshine »

Hi !
I just installed Linux Mint and am very happy of it: Everything works very well except one thing: I have a very slow wifi connection, and this connection also is very unstable !

I am sorry to ask you again, because I saw in this forum a lot of other topics about the approximatly same problem, but I'm a total noob, so I don't dare test the commands that I've seen in other topics, because I don't really understand them and I don't know if they really fit my problem....

Here is the result of the wireless_script:

And here is the mintWifi.py result:

Thank you !

Hello and welcome to this forum!!

Just did a Google search for

Code: Select all

intel 7250 site:kernel.org
There seem to be a lot of problems with this wireless hardware.
If I understand it correctly then a fix was made in november 2014 which might be in kernel 3.17, which isn't available in the update manager yet.
If you want to try then this link gives you a procedure to try kernel 3.18.1
http://www.upubuntu.com/2014/12/install ... 81-in.html
There are also instructions there to remove this kernel version again if you want.
Add (Solved) to the topic-title of the first post when appropriate so others know they might find a solution here.

It looks like you have already tried a known fix, reboot and see if it works better.
