Wireless n/w slowed but is normal in VM

Post by tzh »

Hi there.
I recently updated my Mint17 via synaptic manager. Since as I'm a newbie I didn't realize one is not supposed to update blindly.

Now my internet connection has become slow; even if it comes back to normal(rarely) the speed sustains not more than half-hour.My roommate's as usual got expected speed. However, I tried to connect to the internet on VMware Player via Bridge network on Windows7 guest OS ,and everything's working fine.

Note: I've tlp installed (but it hasn't created problem before).

Hello and welcome to this forum!!

I googled for:

Code: Select all

Broadcom BCM43142 site:linuxmint.com
Got quite a few hits.
Please look if there's a solution there.

Also in the not automatically installed updates there might be a firmware package, see if it's there and if so you might install it.
Add (Solved) to the topic-title of the first post when appropriate so others know they might find a solution here.
