Dell Inspiron Intermittent WiFi - Change to external USB

Post by steadydriver »

Hi

I'm after some help, I've recently installed Linux Mint on my Dell Inspiron 1545. The laptop can sometimes find my Zytel Wifi router and sometimes it can't find it.

I've installed the broadcom drivers but it still sometimes can't find the wifi router.

Does anybody have a fix for this?

Failing that if I put my Netgear Wifi Dongle in or bought another WiFi dongle from ebay, would this be more reliable with Mint that the internal Dell WiFi adapter?

Any help would be appreciated

THanks

So what version is the broadcom

Code: Select all

lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 net
And what drivers are being used

Code: Select all

lsmod | egrep 'b43 | wl'
