I have read numerous posts about differing wifi issues.
After reading forum posts, i think i have finally got the driver installed.
I can see my dongle is powered and gives me a list of available networks.
I just can't connect.
I have run a script recommend on another post as below.

Any help would be very greatfully.
i am new to linux and trying to pick up terminal terminology as i go along.

Re: Yet another wifi issue :(
Hi there. Wifi USB dongle support varies by device type. What dongle are you using?

This may be of some help.
In case you can't get it working and want to get a different one, I tried a Netgear WNA3100 but couldn't get it to work in Mint at all. I reckon when you have to use ndiswrapper you are in murky waters. I then found the ASUS USB-N13 which I have been using for a few days now and seems to work fine without any driver installation.
It seems to me that the USB dongles don't have particularly good reception compared to PCI cards with antennae, but at least with a USB cable you can manipulate their position for optimal reception. The way my PC is arranged would put the PC box between a PCI card antenna and the router which degrades the signal.
