[Solved] Broadcom for Wirelesss on Linux Mint

When opening the Driver manager and trying to install a propriatary driver for my Broadcom wireless card in my laptop. It never finishes the install after clicking apply.

my card is the 1424:43b1 and the driver is 6.20.223.141+bdcom-0ubuntu2

This is going to confuse others
If you are asking for tech support best to remove the [Solved] from the title
If you have,in fact,solved it,it would be best to say how - that will help anyone else who has the same problem

I had the same problem on my Macbook Pro 9.2
You are supposed to be able to install the driver by having the live cd/usb plugged in, going to driver manager, and then just applying the driver. However, it would never take this way.
It worked when I tried the same thing but connected to a wired connection instead of having the live media connected.
