I picked up a used desktop with good bones, but it came with a Broadcom card (BC4360) (okay, so some bones not so good...).
Since BCM4360 isn't listed under STA or B43 legacy, am I doomed? I tried to use the Driver Manager to install using the STA that it detected, got all excited when the card went live, but it works for about 4-5 mins and then the Upload/Download stalls to next to nothing in speed and then it dies.
(Fortunately I have a cheap USB wireless or I wouldn't be typing in the Forum as we speak...)
under /lib/firmware, I've got everything installed: b43, b43legacy and I'm guessing something for wl since I used the Driver Manager.
I'm running Mint 17 Xfce.

Would it do any good to compile the beast myself? I'm guessing not....
Would it do any good to try the card under Mint Debian, instead of Qiana?
Thanks in advance, Kim
