Hi,

can you connect through Ethernet, then go to control center, driver manager and check if additional drivers are shown?

Hi, Jackcool.

Then it will be time to open the terminal window. Execute

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
Post the complete screen ouput here, please. This will give a concise overview of your system configuration including the devices which Mint has detected.
Next, please, execute

Code: Select all

iwconfig
Post the screen output. And finally

Code: Select all

rfkill list
This will list any blocked wifi devices, if any are found. Post the screen output.

Kind regards,
Karl

no the feared acer IPN2220
It's going to be a long ride:

if at any stage you get an error message please stop and come back here with the error.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install ndiswrapper-utils
Download the windows driver on the Acer website ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/travelmate_4000/driver/a802.zip
and place the downloaded a802.zip file in your "Home" folder.

Back in the terminal enter

Code: Select all

cd ~

Code: Select all

unzip a802.zip
you should now have a folder called A802 in your Home folder

Code: Select all

sudo -cp -Rf ~/A802/ /opt/

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe ndiswrapper

Code: Select all

sudo ndiswrapper -i /opt/A802/Win2k/neti2220.inf

Code: Select all

sudo ndiswrapper -m
Now check in NetworkManager to see if your wireless network is detected... if it is, configure your wireless connection.

Now to load the driver every time your system boots... back in a terminal, enter:

Code: Select all

sudo gedit /etc/modules
and add the line:
ndiswrapper
at the end of the file... save and exit.

na more stressed to get it working.

So start again and at each error come back. If I'm not there at least someone else can fix the step where you are hanging.
