Linux Mint 17 Wifi Connectivity Problems

Post by my.plants.eat.rats »

Hey all,

I've been on Linux Mint for about a week or so now and I've been really enjoying it. I've now got a wireless issue of some kind, though. I haven't had this problem until now, and I'm not sure what changed. Here it is; I booted up my computer and my Wifi was being slow to connect. I looked and it wasn't connected at all, and so I tried to do so. It prompted me for my password, and then it displayed that it was connecting. Then it suddenly stopped trying to connect after a while. No error message, no nothing. I've repeated this process with the same results, as well as tried another restart.

Like I said, it's worked fine for quite a while up until now.

Any thoughts?

Thank you so much. The help really is appreciated. :) If there is any further information I can get you, let me know.

Well, I have no idea what the heck happened, but my wireless is working again. That's a plus, but in a way, I kind of wish I knew what actually happened. I am serious about wanting to learn about this! xD It would have been a good learning experience.

By the way, would it be customary for me to put [SOLVED] in the title anyway? I mean, yes, the problem is gone, but does that constitute solved? :P

Here's the output you asked for. Thanks so much for the help. :)

your logs seem alright
Don't forget there is your PC but also a router on the other side having to deal with DHCP, route forwarding and so on.
So glitches do happen, don't always blame the PC.
As an example I have 6 PCs connected to my local LAN and use port forwarding for some of them, when ever I make an update or if an update does happen on the router (your ISP may push down an update) I shutdown the PCs, reboot the router (wait a couple of minutes) and then get the PCs back to live.

Well, I thought about that, but then I tried the other computers in my house while I was having problems, and they worked fine. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, and it worked fine. So it wasn't my router or ISP or anything like that... at least to my knowledge.

Thanks for the help, though. :)
