Mint 13 wireless adapter not working

Post by fdd »

Hi, I'm trying to make the wifi work on my new (old) computer with Mint 13 installed on it. I had a mini wireless USB Adapter WF748-CUI (also old) at home, so I figured I could use it to connect my computer to the wifi.

I pluged the USB adapter, ran the cd (containing the windows drivers) and installed it with ndiswrapper (involving some problems that are now fixed I think).

When I run iwconfig, I can see something like :

Code: Select all

wlan0 IEEE 802.11 g ESSID:off/any
                              .........etc.
Also, I can detect now the wireless networks around.

The problem is : when I click on the network I want to connect to, the password box prompt, but, even if I enter the good password, the connexion gets stuck at "configuration of the network" for a while and then prompts the password window again.

I don't know if it can still be a problem with the driver or if it's more like a configuration problem.

Thank's for your help!

Did you check if the Driver Manager has any drivers for it? Menu > Control Center > Driver Manager.
