Setting preferential network to connect with

I've got two local wireless networks, backup one using 3G internet and main one for Adsl. Mint always connects to the backup network first. How do I set it to default to the other network?

Unticking "connect automatically" for the network under Network Settings seems to do it. However users should note that when you select the network whose settings you want to play with, it actually changes to that network. Not so great when you're half way through a 1< gig download.
