Broadband Ericsson H5321gw not working

Post by johnjdoe »

Hi forum members,

I've a new Toshiba Portégé Z930 who is working fine under Mint "Nadia" 64bits with Cinnamon. For some information about the hardware see http://www.linlap.com/toshiba_portege_z930

The 3G hardware is an Ericsson H5321gw and I see two devices under the network settings in the GUI: Mobile Broadband and a wired named "Toshiba H5321 gw".

Unfortunately, I have some problems to connect to mobile broadband with the laptop. It connects and then disconnects directly.

Under Windows 7 (I have a dualboot) the hardware works fine. Even under Linux using the command line options from http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Ericsson_ ... and_Module the hardware works. So imho, the problem is located elsewhere and I hope that somebody could help me.

Some more information to help you debug the problem:

Re: Broadband Ericsson H5321gw not working

Post by T430s »

Hi,

I just follow this post :

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=294652

And it works for me, adapting it to my Lenovo T430s.

# cp /lib/udev/rules.d/77-mm-ericsson-mbm.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/
# vi /etc/udev/rules.d/77-mm-ericsson-mbm.rules
...
# Ericsson H5321gw
ATTRS{idVendor}=="0bdb", ATTRS{idProduct}=="1926", ENV{ID_MM_ERICSSON_MBM}="1"
...

-> changed to my USB device vendor and product Id, which are

# lsusb | grep Eric
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0bdb:1926 Ericsson Business Mobile Networks BV

then

# echo options cdc_ncm prefer_mbim=N >> /etc/modprobe.d/cdc_ncm.conf

# reboot

Should be OK now
I'm running LMDE 64bit MATE edition
