I'm running Mint 13 Cinnamon on an Advent 5711 cheap-as-you-like plastic laptop. I've also previously installed Ubuntu 10, 11 and 12 as well as Mint 11 but I've been met with a recurring problem.
The wireless connects fine but after a (varied) time it stops receiving anything. I've narrowed it down to be about 10 to 20 MB of data if downloading installation files, for example. I can use various websites and it's handy for checking e-mail (etc.) but I need to restart every time this limit is reached. I've followed up numerous wireless fixes (mostly relating to Realtek) to no avail. I've searched for the Lite-On wireless in various forums to no avail.
Quick search for my model lists the following spec:
Network Card: Realtek RTL8102E (Onboard)
LiteOn WN6302L Wireless LAN
Any help would be so much appreciated. Whilst the Ethernet works fine I don't possess a cable long enough to reach the router and my arse is cold from sitting on the floor if I need anything over 10MB.
Cheers!

I understand a lot of people have posted on this before and it seemed that the best option was to install the Windows drivers through the ndiswrapper. These drivers are working worse than the one that existed before. Out of the drivers packages the ones for Windows 7 and Vista (both 32-bit) didn't work at all. The one for XP works as far as I can get a connection and occasionally visit a site but I get DNS error after DNS error saying there's no data being transmitted. It's also taking a long time to make the connection in the first place, sometimes asking for the password multiple times. Other computers in the household are not having a problem with the wireless and run Windows, so it's not the router.
Here's the latest mintwifi printout, done with the Ethernet unplugged and on the wireless.
