Hello there !

I was trying to fix a SuYin webcam (see that post), but i am totally bloqued.
When I found my usb Webcam in my mess, hope has reborn !
to die again...
This site seems to say my webcam isn't supported. Great news !
I can't make it work either. 2 possibilitys, or I am a perfec noob (that might be true ;) ) or i am cursed (that is certainly true.).

here is what i know about it :

Code: Select all

$ lsusb
...
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0c45:6100 Microdia
I found this website that might be a key but i cannot understand very well what i should do. And i do not totally trust this site... Any advices ?

Hoping someone knows the answer, thank you for reading my post.

As far as i can check it, there's no USB device ID ending with 6100 for this device. But then again, i was looking at another website.
The good piont is though, Linux recognize the device partially. This means there is some hope, but it's very, very, very little bit of hope.....
Oh yes, that Suyin webcam is not mentioned on that website. That means 2 things:
1 - the people behind that website doesn't have any clue about that webcam/manufacturer/brand
2 - The list of that site is not fully complete

If that site says your Micromedia webcam is not supported, then it is not supported... Bad luck for you. Although Linux recognize that webcam...

If you install (or already did) Cheese, does Cheese recognize your webcam and do you any kind of view?

That page is made for Sonix webcam's/video devices as far as i can judge it. And, if i'm not mistaken, it's ment for KDE if i'm correct since i noticed the folder path: drivers/media/usb/gspca/Kconfig ending with kconfig which is a KDE tool.

If you don't trust it, stay away from it! Best advice i can give you.
