OCR Software ?

hi,
i have scanned two documents and saved them as tiffs. Now i like to get them recognized.
what programm could i use ?
i ve tried kooka, but in the config it tells me, that there are no OCR binaries...
I use Bianca final

In synaptic you have gocr, clara. ocrad (and probably some more)

There are some OCR programs in Synaptics - take a look

that was easy :
i installed gocr via synaptic and kooka now finds the binary and can use it

Good news for those who cannot compile
YAGF source stuff - get the
.deb file and run

yagf_0.8.1~lffl~lucid~ppa3_i386.deb
(works on lucid as well as maverick system)
