Conky - how to detect a mouse click on Conky window

Post by AUserInEssex »

Dear all

I've got a working Conky that I wish to augment such that, when I click anywhere on its window, Mint's System Monitor is launched.

The bit I am having trouble with is the detection of a click. I've tried to accomplish that using some seemingly overly complex code involving lua scripts that I found here - but it doesn't work. The code is over-complicated in that it detects just where in the Conky the click has been, and I don't need that. All I need, as I say, is to detect a click anywhere within the Conky - but, because I don't understand the Lua code properly, I can't see how to simplify it to do that. Perhaps indeed I don't need a Lua script at all, or at least not one anywhere near as involved as the one I am using.

Can anyone advise?
