"click to focus" vs "click to front"

Post by DAP »

There is a "click" option under focus, but it does click to front rather than click to focus. Is there a way to actually get click to focus instead of click to front?
What I mean is that if I click on a text editor that is behind a calculator showing the results of a calculation, I'd like the text editor to become active and allow me to type even though it remains behind the calculator.
I had this behaviour on my old Amiga, and under gnome 2.0, and I'd really like to have it back.
