MDM html themes not displaying properly

Post by escortgoj »

HI!

I've been a happy Mint user for years now...imagine my surprise when sudently something went wrong. This morning I booted my workstation and ended up with the mdm html login screen totally screwed up (I use mint 17 64 with cinnamon). There is no problem login in though...it works, but instead of having the nice and elegant theme showing up, it looks like some very old, basic and ugly gtk2 theme without any background image. My mdm preferences are set up to use mdm html. I tried to use mdm gdm and the themeing works perfectly. Tried to get back to html...ugly again. Don't know what happend. I checked with /usr/share/mdm/html-themes and in case the themes disappeared...no still there. I even used /usr/bin/mdm-theme-emulator to see how they were displayed...no problem. I also tried to reinstall mdm with no result. So now I am out of option. Any help would appreciated.
