Re: Disk Image error
What command are you using to do your "disk image"?
Are you trying to image your / partition to a usb?

Use the live Mint DVD or USB to image your / partition.

I am new to Linux OS's. You just went right over my head. When I go to DVD it says select an image but I do not have an image yet. Same with USB.

Re: Disk Image error
Did you accidentally click "Restore Disk Image" instead of "Create Disk Image" ?
I booted the live Mint 17.3 and Disks has both "Restore" and "Create". I did not see any problem.
To image the entire hard drive, click the big gear at the top. To image a partition, click on the partition, and then click the small gear below.

Re: Disk Image error
Are you doing this from the live Mint DVD or USB?
You can't unmount the / partition while you are using it.

Re: Disk Image error
I'm not sure, what you are doing.
But this error comes out when you try to image with disks directly from your active partition, where the OS is installed, as said by Austin.texas.
Why don't use systemback ?
You will have your personal live system in the pocket, when you want.

Re: Disk Image error
I do not know what "Live Mint DVD" is. I do not know what "Systemback" is either. I have a DVD with my OS on it. OK, I see what Systemback is and have the utility loaded now.austin.texas wrote:Are you doing this from the live Mint DVD or USB?

I now have the image on my USB via Systemback. Thanks for the help everyone.
