I have two fresh installation of linux mint 17.3 cinnamon and in both i just can not switch users from lockscreen.
If i click the ' Switch User' button on lockscreen it will return asking password for the current logged in user.
If i unlock, i will see a error box containing ( one for each time i clicked on switch user button ):
Cannot start new display
The X server failed. Perhaps it is not configured well.
Any ideas ?

No one else having problems ? Or no multi user being used ?
Re: Switch user broken in mint 17.3 cinnamon
Actually the problem is not so simple !
Have you tried to click the switch user applet ? Probably you will get the same error.
Running mdmflexiserver in terminal shows me the same dialog box error.
Already tried three different machines , with different video cards, and out of the box none can switch users.
It wont work on lock screen and it wont work on applet, so definitely there is a problem.
