Nemo auto mount not working

Post by AJ1000 »

I am trying out cinnamon and so far having an interesting experience. However one strange thing, nemo has stopped auto mounting automatically, and it was yesterday. I am not sure what has changed.

The dconf settings have not changed with automount being checked on org gnome desktop media-handling and it is checked in org cinnamon desktop media-handling. Also memo has the option checked in the behaviour tab of preferences.

Is there anywhere else I can look at to fix this?

Thanks.

Since no response, I will reinstall cinnamon instead when 2.8 comes out.

I don't know a thing about it, but when people ask about automounting, the experts tell them they need to edit their fstab file. So you might do a little looking into that.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried various things with no success.

My main desktop is MATE and that is working great but I have concerns about Compiz breaking things in 17.3 or 18, and so decided to try Cinnamon out on a spare PC. I am unsure why automounting stopped working when it worked fine when initially installed. I was hoping an expert would tell me a cinnamon specific file to investigate.

It seems, the best way forward, is to reinstall Cinnamon. I might as well wait for 17.3 and try it again with Cinnamon 2.8.
