Screen darkens
Ok guys, this is a weird one. Have a dual boot D830 laptop. Brand new hard drive with Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon and Kubuntu 15 on it. Earlier today the screen went real dark, could barely see anything on Cinnamon. Even during reboot it was dark like it was frozen in battery save mode. Tonight I booted into Kubuntu and it started dark during the bootup and then flashed bright like normal. Rebooted back into Cinnamon and everything was fine. Now I dont think this is a hardware problem and its the first time I ever seen this old laptop do this. Any idea's what in Cinnamon could cause this and what I can do to recover if there is a next time other than boot up into Kubuntu?
