Hey all
Have been using Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop since the release of 17.1. In 17.1 was able to create shortcuts of basically anything and move them to where ever I needed them. Recently I did a reformat of my HDD and did a clean install of Linux Mint of 17.2 and sadly discovered that the "Make Link" option when i right clicked on a file or folder was gone. Is there something that i can turn on, enable or install that will allow me to be able to make shortcuts again?
All HELPFUL suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Tai

Re: desktop shortcuts
Open the nemo preferences -> Display -> last option: show all actions. Set the checkmark and restart nemo afterwards.

Re: desktop shortcuts
This was not the first question about it and will not be the last one. I am not sure if it was a so good decision, to set this option to off as default, as user's coming from LM 17 / 17.1 (or previous) do not expect this option to exist at all (and consequently do not even search for it) and new Cinnamon-users might probably never get the idea, that the context menu can get far more powerful than it appears at first.
Re: desktop shortcuts
ok, seems like an easy fix here. I had done a bit of extra digging after posting and saw that a few other people had gotten the same answer......go to nemo preferences. where is nemo preferences located, don't see anything listed as Nemo anything.

Re: desktop shortcuts
Open the home folder, you have opened nemo, now go to edit at the top and choose preferences then go from there.
