Icons/applets missing from System Settings

Post by chimchild »

Hi,

This topic section seemed to be the most correct:

I seem to be missing a few icons from the the System Settings section of Mint. Such as Printer settings, and the automated backup/restore, as well as others. I have read some similar threads, but the suggested solutions haven't worked.

I'm running the same or similar versions of Mint on 2 other computer's and I haven't experienced or noticed this issue on them.

Any helpful suggestions would be welcomed.

Thank you.

Concerning the printer settings icon try to reinstall the package :

Code: Select all

apt reinstall system-config-printer-gnome

What do you mean with automated backup/restore?
And what others more?

Probably it would be the easiest way, to create a screenshot of the system settings from on of your other machines.

Isn't there a disk/data backup utility bundled with mint?

Actually I ended up installing it, for some reason it wasn't installed in the first place.

There is. But at first it is not integrated in the system settings and at second it is not suitable for automatism.

So it leaves unclear, what you miss and what you see in the 2 other machines.
I repeat please a create a screenshot from one of these 2 machines to show what you really mean.
