Hi-DPI few issues

So I'm on a Mint 17.2 Cinnamon and recently enabled the Hi-DPI option for my screen. Everything was fine but now there are a couple issues:

1) After I log on with the old setup, it took 1-2 seconds to get into desktop. WIth Hi-DPI it's now taking 15-20 seconds. Why is this?
2) Menu was working fine but now the menu is too big and I'm unable to see the top of the menu, like the searchbar
