gksu is windowed

Post by marmistrz »

I install Mint 17.2 Cinnamon on my laptop and noticed that `gksu echo` spawns an ugly window for the password. My desktop installation in contrast only a grey rectangle which can't be moved.

Did I set something wrong on my new install?

I wonder what your goal is. gksu is meant to be used for launching graphical programs. Furthermore I do not understand, why you would want to run the echo command elevated. Another question is, if you can enter the password and if it gets accepted. Wh is it ugly, please provide a screenshot. Please rephrase this sentence, I don't get its meaning:

`echo` is a sample command. I mean: on my PC gksu blocks the whole screen and doesn't have the title bar. On my laptop - it does have the title bar and can be moved.

it's late now, I'll provide the screenshots tomorrow.
