Desktop settings not changing after file edit
I'm editing to change the panel appearance as I normally do but the settings are not taking effect. I'm opening it as root and the changes are saving in the file itself. This is on a laptop, and the display is an external monitor, I don't know if that would affect anything. The changes are not taking place on the laptop's screen either (I've restarted twice and restarted Cinnamon several times).
