Playback controls go missing when another player opened

Post by badbodh »

initially i was playing music in banshee and volume applet had its playback controls. Then i pause it, play a video in smplayer. As expected volume applet now shows playback controls for smplayer. When i exit smplayer, the volume applet should get back to banshee's controls, but never does that. Even though banshee was open in background all the time, now volume applet shows no playback controls whatsoever. Changing songs in banshee doesn't help either. I have to exit and start banshee again.

in a nutshell - when player 1 and player 2 are open, volume applet forgets about player 1 completely . is it expected behaviour or a bug ?
How do i tell the volume applet that player 1 is still open ?

Mint 17.1 cinnamon 64-bit.

Windows assumes I'm stupid but Linux proves it.
