desktop environment freezing except mouse

hi,
just install the last version of LMDE on my Kudu professional (by system 76) and when the laptop not doing anything for a while the desktop environment freezing but I can move the mouse.
I have to restart X (by clicking ctrl + alt + backspace), it's not a solution for me.

maybe there is another solution?

This usually points to driver issues. More particularly graphics driver.

I noticed that Intel just released their most recent Linux installer for their graphics chipsets in the past week. Is this recommended or not to install? I thought I had tried this late last year when I first started experiencing these desktop freezes and it had no impact. I have installed patches mentioned here (https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/i ... t-77931954) and it has drastically reduced the freezes.
