Hi,
After many years working with Ubuntu I decided to give it a go with Mint. I like everything about it but I am encountering what looks like a "memory leak" in the Cinnamon environment. After a day or so of normal usage (internet email etc) the desktop crawls nearly to a halt. It's like moving from 30 fps to 2-3 fps. Windows can barely be moved or scaled. When I terminate Cinnamon from the system monitor, it relaunches itself and everything is good again. This must be repeated every day or two.
I have tried both the built-in open source driver and the nVidia closed source driver. Same result. The system is up to date of course.
My spec:
nVidia 650 GTX 1GB
8 GB RAM
Intel Q6600 Quad core CPU
Intel Mobo
Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon 32 bit installed
Cinnamon frame rate drop (mem leak?)
