I installed a Cinnamon theme and it borked my system after I restarted (Currently using v17).
Screen artifacts and I cannot access theme settings to restore default.
My system worked perfectly fine before installing this theme.
Is their a way to restore the default theme through the CLI?
This is the theme that caused the trouble:

Re: Restore default theme through CLI? (Cinnamon DE)
Hi - welcome to the Linux Mint forums
Open a terminal, and enter:
Just for info, the Numix Cinnamon theme works ok for me
Open a terminal, and enter:
Code: Select all
gsettings set org.cinnamon.theme name 'Linux Mint'

Thanks for the suggestion. I got a X11 error so I'm assuming that I have to change via the GUI.
However, the settings panel does not render properly so I guess that won't work either.
Luckily, I was able to install XFCE 4 DE via the Recovery. It loaded and ran perfectly, no issues.
I'm using this for an EDX Intro to Linux course. After I complete the course, I will install Ubuntu MATE.
I need a more stable desktop environment.
