Something changed in Cinnamon between mint 16 and 17. Often I quickly click on the menu icon and start moving the cursor up to select a program. This is interpreted as a HELD left click and opens an unintended program.
It would be helpful if the menu could be configured to disable held left clicks.

Re: Issue with configurable menu option
I understand what you are saying. I had the same problem until I made myself slow down and just click on the menu, and wait a second for it it open before moving the cursor.

Look up to the top of the page, read the part in the forum rules section... Topic locked.

FYI, this has already been fixed for the next release: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/c ... 550e405a00
As xenopeek said, it is best to check github for these issues, rather than the forums.

Re: [SOLVED] Issue with configurable menu option
Topic unlocked, as mtwebster makes clear this was an issue and not an idea, and moved it here.
cinly, don't post issues in the Suggestions & New Ideas section--but use the support section of the forum to get feedback from other users, or post an issue on GitHub. If you have a suggestion or new idea for Cinnamon, mind that the Suggestions & New Ideas isn't a place to submit ideas to application developers--as noted in the forum rules there.

Re: [SOLVED] Issue with configurable menu option
Hi, I'm the developer of Configurable Menu. I personally appreciate any contribution to the free software. And report a bug is for me an important contribution. I think, that the same things will apply to all free software developer, specially the Cinnamon devs, this is why this post was move here. Thanks xenopeek, because he have right that this was not the place to comment about a bug, and thanks to mtwebster by fix the problem in cinnamon. We only need be careful, to not create a caos. Linux Mint it's a big project, so it's difficult find your good comments in the wrong section. If we publish in wrong section, just will be lost the time, and this is bad for all...
I recomend create an account on https://github.com/. Not all user can detected a bug in Cinnamon.
In the case of Configurable Menu, you not need to wait for a solution, because it's a simple applet, not a complete desktop like Cinnamon. You can download the nightly builds version from here:
https://github.com/lestcape/Configurabl ... master.zip
If the problem continues, please report me a problem here:
https://github.com/lestcape/Configurable-Menu/issues
I will happy to collaborate to solve any problem or any request in the best possible way.
Again thanks...
