Post by Gameslayer »

Hi I have a issues I really need to fix, at random times my system will act really funny, the theme will go back to default the text will be weird including the icons changing to gnome and take longer than usual to boot and after when this happens I cannot change it back or change the theme and the only way I know how to fix it is to re install and I really don't want to keep doing that its happens more than 3 times now all at random, nothing wrong has happened before or any issues like freezing crashing ect. I restarted my laptop after work no problems again and this after noon randomly it happened again, I really need my laptop for tafe and Love Linux and hate to have this as a constant random problem please help!

inxi -Fxz
This in accordance with the forum rules and rule #5 under Section II. Also next time please comply to the forum rules when posting a question.

Forgot to add that suspend also doesn't work as well as pressing ctrl t for terminal and other weird stuff, and sorry for the lack of details.

My only thoughts are as follows:
I assume based on you inxi output that you are running gnome.
I would just re-install all the gnome stuff, gnome-session, gnome-shell.. I think you get my drift there.
If that doesn't fix it, try creating a new user.
DONOT add any extensions other that what is normally provided.
Perhaps an extension is the issue.
Lastly, you could run memtest or some other diag to test out memory.
Sorry, but that's all I have for you.
