Changing the weekday display in the calendar

Post by xmiq »

I am using the Linux Mint 17 with the Cinnamon desktop and I have the Maltese locale selected for dates, however the calender only shows the first letter of the word and it even includes the prefix resulting in 6 Is and 1L (Il-Ħadd, It-Tnejn, It-Tlieta, L-Erbgħa, Il-Hamis, Il-Ġimgħa, Is-Sibt). How can I change this to be a bit more meaning full? To clarify I mean when clicking on the calender applet on the panel and the calender popus up with the days on top of the calendar. Those are the ones I want to change.
