Hi,
I've just updated to Mint 17 and everything is working fine if I log in as a local user but I need to log in as a NIS user. I've installed and configured NIS and I can login as my NIS user successfully from VT1, but from the graphical MDM login screen it won't accept my password. It appears that MDM is at least aware of NIS since it displays all the NIS users in the menu. Any ideas?

Re: Unable to login as NIS user through MDM
Well, I've find at least a workaround for this. I changed the value of PamStack from mdm to login in /etc/mdm/mdm.conf. This allows me to login but I'm not sure what features of the mdm PAM module I might be missing because of this.
