Theme selector in Cinammon missing themes
Have Mint 17 Cinnamon. The Theme selector in Preference lists three themes - Cinnamon, Mint-X and Linux Mint. /usr/share/themes has folders for 20 themes (oddly Cinnamon isn't one of them). Why don't all those themes show up in the theme selector?

Re: Theme selector in Cinammon missing themes
They are part of the "Other settings" tab in Themes.
The Cinnamon theme is in the "Linux Mint" folder in /usr/share/themes.
If you want more themes you will have to click on "get more online" and refresh your theme cache.

Re: Theme selector in Cinammon missing themes
So the other items in /usr/share/themes aren't complete themes in the since that Mint-X is but are instead partial themes that only affect parts of a complete theme? Example: Emacs is only a keybinding that can be used with another complete theme? Adwaita (which I've seen referred to as a theme) only affects controls and mouse pointers. Is that at least partly correct?

Yes, think of them as sub-themes. Linux Mint comes with 3 themes to start with and the "Other settings" tab lets you adjust some of the smaller details.
There are many very nice themes available and although I prefer Cinnamon as a theme, Void is also very pleasing to the eye and very functional too. It really depends on the user and individual taste.
