jeremy,

I've found this window.
MenuPreferences.png
How can I make use of it?

I have seen the Super+L issue on Mint 17 on two laptops now.
To fix it,
  • Go to Menu -> System Settings
    Open Keyboard
    Open Keyboard Shortcuts
    Add new Custom Shortcut
    Name: Lock Screen
    Command: gnome-screensaver-command -l
Then save it by clicking Add
Now assign the keyboard shortcut to Super L (Windows+L).
For some reason, it works on this custom shortcut, and not on the default one to Lock Screen.

Am I correct in understanding that there is no workaround to get properly functioning win+<key> shortcuts?

Just like Stoffe, I need Ctl+Alt+T for my IDE. I would like Win+T to instead open a terminal.

For reference, I can confirm this was not an issue in Mint 13.

I tried what Jazee described about the Super-L key under Mint17.1rc and it worked.
It also asks: do you really wish to change that key combination to do something else?
So I don't understand the conclusion that there is no workaround for shortcuts.
Add (Solved) to the topic-title of the first post when appropriate so others know they might find a solution here.

Apologies. I had this page open for a long time before I posted. I didn't notice the reply from jazeee.

Jazeees work-around worked perfectly. Thankyou :)

Great, thanks!
