Dear All,
I have recently migrated from Maya 13 Mate to Cinnamon edition and I must say, I am just loving it.
I am currently using classic desktop style, that is two panel cinnamon desktop. However, what I notice is when I open the applications, they basically adhere to the top panel irrespectively and I did not find any option to make them sit on the bottom panel.
For example, if you look at this image
http://cinnamon.linuxmint.com/tmp/blog/119/classic.png
you can see clearly that the applications opened here are actually been seen on the bottom panel and not on the top panel. I would like to get this effect. Currently, having an empty bottom panel is of no use as I cant even add application shortcuts to it.
Kindly help

You can click the Settings Applet (the UP arrow), then drag and drop the applets to the bottom panel. Turn this mode of when you finished it

Open an app so that it shows in the upper panel.
Right click on the panel
Turn the panel edit mode on
Drag the app indicator to the bottom panel
Right click on the panel
Turn the panel edit mode off
Now your app indicators will be at the bottom
