I've repeatedly managed to torture my laptop like this:
- log in as user A.
- log out.
- just a moment before the login screen is all nice and ready again, close the lid.
What happens? When I put my laptop in my bag now, it does not suspend. It just gets hotter and hotter and finally runs out of battery and *tries* to hibernate.
When I try to wake it up, it asks me for my password (disk encryption). But then nothing happens. It doesn't really know how to hibernate
I have to lean on the power key and start it up from scratch.
Do other people run into this non-suspend issue?

Ah, that's interesting. Currently I have
I guess I could try putting suspend in there. I certainly don't want poweroff.
What currently handles suspend-on-lid-close? Why is that mechanism failing in only this case?
Code: Select all
$ grep HandleLid /etc/systemd/logind.conf
HandleLidSwitch=ignore
