Graphics problem | Some image along with cursor

Post by dgpride »

Dear all,
I'm using Mint Raefela. There is a white image with the cursor as in the screenshot i have added. Need help to remove this. When I took screenshot, it didn't have the image. I edited the screenshot to show the image.

OP:
There is a white image with the cursor
Does that mean it follows the cursor around?
When I took screenshot, it didn't have the image.
Does the image show up in the screenshot if you "capture mouse cursor" (or words to that effect) with the screenshot?
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!
Your data and OS are backed up....right?

Dear Flemur,
Yes, the image follows the cursor.

When, taking screenshot, the image is not captured.

i also have an apu, but desktop, A8-7600 am2+, ive had graphic problems but nothing related to yours. i would recommend first try the latest 3.16.x kernel, then the latest 3.19.x. if no improvement then try updating the driver, you should have 3 options in driver manager in control panel. try any fglrx driver.

last you can update your bios to A6, i would only recommend this if you can downgrade which i dont think is possible since they dont offer old bios firmware to download. but i could be wrong, this should be last resort. on both my 2015 model latops i can upgrade the bios during boot, with a built in tool, when booting press F12 you should see it, if not you need to boot windows :(

Not really a fix, but maybe an easy work-around: have you tried changing the cursor? (theme/size/whatever)

Also, you could check to see if you have the same behavior when logged in as a different user.

I have the same 3541 with Mint 17-2 and had the same problem. It was a driver problem. Version 17.3 fixed the problem. I did not have anything important on the laptop so did a clean install from a DVD. Problem is gone.
