Hello,
I recently did a fresh install of LM17.1 and I just enabled Compiz with a few effects. (I like switching desktop effect)
It seemed to be operating properly. On restart of the computer, the desktop loaded without issue, but I was unable to click on the MENU button. Right click responded properly anywhere on the desktop. I could not use the MENU. I restarted the computer again and issue persisted for about 5 minutes and then I was able to click on the start menu. I went back to the original window manager and have no issue.
The computer has an Intel I5 2.4ghz Intel proc, 8 gigs of ram.
Any suggestions as I would like to have some of the features of Compiz.
Thank you,
[RESOLVED] COMPIZ and MENU button issue

Let me know if you think this will work. I don't have a test machine to try it on. Thanks.

Since this is a laptop, I don't really need the Nvidia card often. I will try a linux game or two, but not very often.

Re: COMPIZ and MENU button issue
I loaded the Nvidia driver and the issue still exists. I noticed to that the laptop fan is running alot more since loading the driver.

Re: COMPIZ and MENU button issue
Uninstalled the driver and the fan stopped running so much.
I guess I will deal with not having some Compiz effects.
Life goes on.
