Just Looking for Weather [SOLVED]

Post by Matthew Paul »

I have read many articles/websites and watched videos about, "How To"... what to do when starting out. One video had exactly what I was looking for. A simple weather report. Something I like to keep an eye on with this time of year coming. I went back to watch it several more times and I believe the name I saw was "AccuWeather". I also think it was for a Cinnamon desktop.

Since I have MATE, I tried the one from "Pjotr's 10" page. Which is a small reading on the Panel and all that seems to do is Update.

As for the video I was referring to about getting a weather forecast, ....it's here. The "To Do List for LM" has the man showing how to add Applets. Something I have not found yet. Perhaps that is why I cannot find the weather applet he refers to. The Cinnamon desktop has applets and MATE does not?

Any insight or advise is appreciated. :D

Thanks, kc1di!! :D That is exactly what I was looking for. Something simple, not too fancy. Just wanted to have access to some information at a glance.

I think the first suggestion is the one I tried. "In the Panel" I think I could have left that one on from 3 days ago and it would still be showing, "Updating".

Thanks again, kc1di
