While starting linux mint 17.1, it doesn't show any destop icons and the desktop remains inactive. But, after 1 min caja file manager starts and desktop becomes normal.
The problem started after some windows were opened and I suddenly shutdown my pc. I think some files got corrupt or it caused some problem in caja file manager.
Is there any way to make caja file manager load normal at startup.
OR
Any way by which I can repair Caja file manager.

Re: CAJA File manager loading very slow at startup
What happens after your system is up and running and you start Caja from the menu? Does starting Caja from a terminal output any diagnostic messages? Also, be sure to check your log ("Log File Viewer" from the menu) for any clues.

Sorry for the 7 year necro post...
My extended Caja startup startup times were caused by a broken bookmark link. Once I deleted the link in the bookmark edit page, Caja started up instantly again like it did for many years.
