Hi all. Just created a new user for my son but when i log in i dont see the mate desktop, but instead an xfce desktop. Any ideas?
(running mint 13 mate).

I gather you have both Mate and Xfce installed.
You can pick the default desktop environment from the login manager (probably mdm) at the login window.
If you're using auto-login, logout (not reboot) and you'll get the window.

Well, i dont remember ever installing the xfce desktop but sure enough it is installed. Thanks!
