[SOLVED] How to add a file location to the main menu

Post by Pogo1 »

This seems so obvious, but I can't make it happen, and I haven't found any posts on it.

I want to add a launcher to the menu that will open an ftp site (or any file, would be useful).

I have successfully added a launcher to the desktop, and that works fine. I even found the remote folder icon to use.

But how can I do this in the menu? I tried to add a new item under the Internet category, filled in the form, closed the editor, and nothing changed.

Did I miss a step?

Pogo..

I found the solution here http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 6&t=172414. The Places menu can be edited after right-clicking the Menu button and selecting Preferences.

Thanks for getting back to me, nomko. I should have said I'm using version 17.

While I have solved this problem, I might start another topic since I find that I am unable to add items anywhere in the menu.

Pogo.
