Easy Come, Easy Go, Maybe

Post by StitchInTime »

Hello. Well, here I am. My Windows 98SE (yes, that's 98--not even 2000, let alone xp,7,8...) appears to have died or reached a terminal state, as of June 26, 2015. After much fiddling around, I spied a second hand laptop, at an amazing price, with Mint xfce 17.1, and decided to try it out. Unfortunately, the way things are going, the 30 day warranty about to expire and many problems, I may not be here for long unless these are resolved, because if they are not, then it's back to 98se again... The seller is really dragging his feet on this; I have searched online for days and found no answers. And so, later you will be seeing a whole new topic on this in your help section... So, to those of you who like problem solving, you have that to look forward too. ***Warning:*** I am by new means a technical genius. :? I have a feeling it's something simple that I am missing, but as I said, more on that later...

Meanwhile, hiya! (Waves.)

Welcome to the family, and Happy Minting! Hope you stay awhile. :)
When you post the problem you're describing, do post the link here. I and (I'm sure) several others will be looking out for it then...

Welcome aboard, StitchInTime! It's a pretty safe bet that your modem problem can be solved, there are some very bright people here.

Thank you all for you welcomes, encouragement and support!

I have been doing a lot of reading and will continue to do so, although I need to take a break to get on with some other things; so, I am going to give it a rest for a bit. But I'll be back... :)
