Hello,
I recently installed Linux Mint 15 "Cinnamon". After that I installed Unity and Ratpoison DEs. But at the time of startup, on the "sessions" tab of login screen they are not displayed in the list, (only Cinnamon is shown) whereas the Software Manager says that they are installed. What to do? How do I change the DE?

Re: Other desktop environments not shown in "Session Button"
I also wanted to try out ratpoison too, and XBM. So I and installed (apt-get) both. But only XBMC correctly is offered as a choice after pressing the session button of th login menu. Do I have to do some manual editing somewhere in /etc/mdm?
Re: Other desktop environments not shown in "Session Button"
You need to create additional *.desktop files in
/usr/share/xsessions/
Here is an example ("ratpoison.desktop") for ratpoison
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Ratpoison
Comment=Highly configurable and low resource X11 Window manager
Exec=ratpoison
Terminal=False
TryExec=/usr/bin/ratpoison
Type=Application
[Window Manager]
SessionManaged=false
/usr/share/xsessions/
