W: Failed to fetch http://packages.domain.com/dists/saucy/In

Post by fredhoud »

I'm using Linux Mint 16 KDE Petra.
I've been getting this message for about a few weeks now, every time there is an update available throught the update manager.

W: Failed to fetch http://packages.domain.com/dists/saucy/InRelease
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.domain.com/dists/saucy/Release.gpg Could not resolve 'packages.domain.com'
W: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Is there any way to fix this so this doesn't show :?:

Thanks,
Fredhoud

Hello, fredhoud.

There is no such repository as http://packages.domain.com. Disable it using Software Sources.

Kind regards,
Karl

Karl,

That did the job. I wonder that came from enabling the source code repositories in order to download the BlueGriffon through the software source.

Thanks again Karl,

Hello, fredhoud.

Good to know you have solved your problem. - Hm, as this fake address packages.domain.com hit a few users in the past, this smells like a bug which strikes seemingly randomly, very likely under conditions which so far no-one has found out precisely.

Cheers,
Karl
