hi folks, i just wanted to ask, before i mess up my system (as i did so often, since fglrx install on my card is such a pain)
is it possible to set up one user that uses open source drivers (say for watching videos and general use) and one user for using fglrx for gaming?
or is the selected graphics diver applied before the user selection?
different user for open source/proprietary graphic driver?

Yes, it is.
Your best bet would be to have two separate installs.
It's not as convenient or elegant, but it's the only way I can think of that you'll be able to have different graphics drivers for different users.
