GCC is broken

Post by ddalley »

I tried to install a program not in the Mint repository, but a gcc error stopped it.

gcc was re-installed, but it still won't work, so now what?

Re: GCC is broken

Post by Flemur »

I tried to install a program not in the Mint repository,

"A program" is pretty mysterious.

but a gcc error stopped it.

configure:3350: gcc -V >&5
gcc: error: unrecognized command line option '-V'

That's an error in the config file for "a program".
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!
Your data and OS are backed up....right?

Me too. Anyone find the fix for this?

ETA:

sudo apt-get install libc6-dev

fixed this.
