Re: Solution for print problem from pdf with musical notes
I just printed your test case pdf 1 copy from within Firefox and 1 copy using xreader. Did the test 8 times. All copies printed correctly. My printer is a HP Officejet Pro 8600 color printer/scanner. As a side note I've had this printer for 11 years (bought in 2013) and LMDE has had no issues with t...

Re: Selecting Kernel Issues (stuck on 6.1.0-18 even though I want 6.5)
If you have 9 entries in the Advanced options you should run the following command.....
sudo apt autoremove --purge
That will remove the older kernels.....

Re: Selecting Kernel Issues (stuck on 6.1.0-18 even though I want 6.5)
You need to download both the 6.5 Headers and 6.5 Image if you are installing from Synaptic in the Kernel and Modules section. I've done this several times and it installs correctly.

Re: packages.linuxmint.com failed to fetch
Looks like you answered you own question. With your vpn disabled you can reach packages.linuxmint.com immediately, what vpn are you using?
I'm using Nordvpn and packages.linuxmint.com resolves to 192.124.249.53.

Re: Why is Firefox update always so slow?
This happens with main edition, LMDE and I'm sure every variation, any time Firefox updates, it's crawling slow, It's not my internet service making it slow, it's something on Mint's end, are the servers just being hammered or something? Something else, not a problem, just a question, Any time the ...

Re: LMDE 6 and cairo-dock
Hello, I was really impressed by LMDE 5 and of course I installed LMDE 6 from scratch. Well, with version 6 there are minor issues for me - maybe I am too early;-) Issue you can not install cairo-dock - due to an unsolved dependency in cairo-dock-impulse-plug-in (dependency from pulseaudio). Any so...

Re: How to _really_verify_ a Linux Mint installation
To the original poster, you are way way to far in the weeds on this non-issue. There is no need for the Linux Mint team nor any other Linux Distro team to try and implement what you perceive as an important problem. Linux Mint and LMDE are literally installed on thousands of pc's and no one is havin...

Cosmetic Update
I have been bothered by the following cosmetic issue with LMDE 6. LMDE 5 did not have this issue. The issue is/was using LMDE 5 Timeshift showed under the System column the name "LMDE 5", however LMDE 6 showed the name linuxmint "6", which bugged the heck out of me. I finally fou...

Using LMDE 6 Kdenlive is available via software manager. Either from a repo and latest version via flatpak.

Re: Why no old-kernel removal tool in LMDE?
I use nala and the command is autopurge. Quick simple and removes all old kernel files. From a terminal type sudo apt install nala when installed then in a terminal simply type sudo nala autopurge answer Y to the prompts. Done.

I have NOT tried it on LMDE, but it works pretty good on the LM versions, canned response coming up ======================== USE APTIK TO REINSTALL IF, you have a lot of stuff that is not from Software Manager, your BEST option is to purchase APTIK for a nominal lifetime fee of $25.00 https://teeje...

Change Timeshift "System" setting
This really just a cosmetic issue with Timeshift. I modified the Timeshift.json file and took a btrfs snapshot, which resulted in my cosmetic change, but when I took another snapshot 5 mins later it revert back to the original. Does anyone know where or how to make this change permanent in Timeshift...

Re: Issue with mintupgrade LMDE from 4 to 5
I agree. I NEVER do an upgrade. I take a backup snapshot of my system using Aptik, do a clean install of the new OS, then do a restore using Aptik. Been doing it this way since LMDE 3 and I've never had an issue. Aptik is a wonderful program that uses borgbackup, I cannot recommend this program to m...

Re: Issue with mintupgrade LMDE from 4 to 5
Is your LMDE 4 encrypted? If so that opens up a whole different set of problems. As far as dependencies again the mint upgrade program will remove or try to remove all LMDE 4 programs and dependencies in order to have a clean install of the LMDE 5. Another option is I believe LMDE 4 has the program ...
